How to fill in your application
Purpose of application
Please include the exact description of what is being constructed or improved, for example factory, showroom, warehouse, car wash etc. You can find this on your building licence or council approved plans.
Estimated construction cost
The amount shown on your building licence and does not include cost of items such as curtains, carpets etc or GST.
Estimated start date
When construction of the building will commence.
Estimated completion date
When construction of the building will be finished.
The shire/council where the building plans have been submitted.
Demolition of existing building
An accurate demolition date must be provided. This date can affect the annual rates charged for the property. We will change the rating of the property from 'residential' to 'vacant land' effective from the first of the month following the date of demolition.
Owner to occupy
Will the owner be living there, after the building is completed? Please answer Yes or No.

- if more than one building standpipe is required.
For unit developments, a master meter can be installed with or without a sub-meter, or with individual meters. For commercial developments, the units must be strata titled for sub-meters to be installed.

Reticulation and fire services
A 20mm water service can only be supplied for reticulation and is only supplied to residential developments where there is more than 3 units.
If a fire service is required, the applicant must advise us of the required meter size.
Infrastructure contributions are applicable to additional water services, i.e. reticulation services.
Meter and service location details
Most services in new subdivisions have already been installed by the developer and are left buried until an application is submitted to us for the meter to be installed. If a water service has been installed or a water meter exists on the property you will need to use this service.
If you would like to relocate your meter, you will need to apply for a meter relocation and pay the relevant fees.
To find out if a water service has already been installed on your property, please contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org or call 13 13 95.
If you do not have an existing water service, please indicate the preferred location for your water service and include a measurement from either the left or right hand side boundary. The location is determined as if you are standing in the street looking at the lot. If your property is on a corner, please also advise us which street you want your service to come off.
For residential and commercial buildings you will need to provide the number of toilets:
- being added
- being removed.
If you require a sewer junction to be cut in, please advise what size sewer junction is required (ie. 100mm or 150mm)
For non-residential developments and some mixed use developments, such as commercial laundries, laundromats, car washes, apartments and offices, you may need to apply for Trade waste approval. A copy of hydraulic plans will be required.
