Shower Head Swap

If you're in a town where a Shower Head Swap program is being offered, it's important you read the terms and conditions below.

We are currently offering free shower heads as part of water saving programs in various towns throughout the state. At the moment there is no Shower Head Swap program available to customers in the metropolitan area.

Customers in towns being offered a Shower Head Swap, please take note:

At present your local shire is partnering with Water Corporation to deliver our Shower Head Swap service to your area, as outlined below.

It has come to our attention that a direct marketing company, who has no connection or business relationship with us, has been contacting households directly by telephone. They are offering a service where someone will come to your home, to install the shower heads for them. 

This offer has nothing to do with Water Corporation and is not being made by us or on our behalf.

This is a campaign on behalf of a solar panel sales and installation business, using a non-existent link to our Shower Head Swap programs in an attempt to generate sales leads for them. Consumer Protection is currently investigating these concerning sales approaches.

If you are contacted in this way, please be cautious. Understand that if you do accept the offer made, you do so at your own risk.

Things to know before removing your shower head

  • Water efficient shower heads are not always suitable for low pressure, gravity fed (in the roof) and some instantaneous or continuous supply hot water systems. Be sure to check your hot water system is compatible before removing your shower heads. 

  • If you rent your property, the property owner or landlord must agree to the replacement of the shower heads.

  • For assistance in removing and installing shower heads, we recommend you contact a licensed plumber. Search our database of Waterwise Plumbers to find someone in your area.

It's important that you read the terms and conditions before removing your shower heads.

By participating in the Shower Head Swap Program, you have accepted these terms and conditions.

To be eligible for free replacement shower head(s) under the program:

  • You must live in one of the regional towns listed under Regional Programs on Water Corporation’s website

  • If you are a tenant, you and the landlord must agree to participate in the Shower Swap Program, which includes the replacement of the old shower head/s with shower head/s provided under the Shower Head Swap Program.

The process:

  • You must take your old shower head(s) to an exchange point identified on Water Corporation’s website at watercorporation.com.au/community to exchange it for a new replacement showerhead, whilst supplies last.

  • A maximum of two old shower heads can be swapped for two replacement shower heads for each household, only while supplies last.

  • At the point in time that your old shower head is accepted by the exchange point, the old shower head becomes the property of the Water Corporation and cannot be returned to you.

You are responsible for:

  • Removal of the old shower head, including ensuring the removal of the old shower head is compatible with existing systems, the wall fitting(s) and plumbing. If you are in any doubt, we recommend that you ask a licensed Waterwise Plumber for advice.

  • Installation of the replacement shower head, including ensuring the installation is compatible with existing systems, the wall fitting(s) and plumbing.

  • If you need assistance with installing the shower head/s, we recommend you contact a licensed Waterwise Plumber.

  • The condition, operation, maintenance, alteration, replacement, and/or removal of the replacement shower head.

  • Directing any product faults with your new shower head/s to the manufacturer Methven by directly calling 1300 638 483.

Water Corporation is not responsible for:

  • Removal of the old shower head or the installation of the replacement shower head or any damage, loss or risk caused as a result

  • The installation, operation, maintenance, operation, alteration, replacement of the replacement shower head

  • Any associated costs, loss or damage, incurred by participating in the Shower Head Swap Program

Additional terms:

  • The Water Corporation provides no warranty regarding the condition, capability, performance or suitability of for the replacement shower head for whatever purpose you intend to use the new shower head.

  • The Exchange Point will act as a distribution point only for the showerhead(s) on behalf of the Water Corporation.

  • The Exchange Point bears no responsibility for any loss, damage, or claim arising out of the Shower Head Swap Program, including any loss, damage or claims associated with the removal, installation, plumbing, and or manufacturer warranties.

The replacement shower heads provided under the Shower Head Swap Program are water efficient and are not suitable for low pressure, gravity fed (in the roof), and some instantaneous or continuous supply hot water systems.
