Newman Pipe Replacement
Project goal:
To upgrade a water main in Newman to improve the reliability of the water network to alleviate leaks and bursts.
Status:
In construction
Delivery Date:
End of October 2024
What’s happening?
Water Corporation’s authorised contractor, Digga Civil, will soon begin work to upgrade the pipework in Newman. This essential work will improve the reliability of the water network and assist in preventing future leaks and bursts, especially during wet weather events. The replacement of these pipes will improve the security and reliability of the Newman water supply for decades to come.
The work includes installation of water main using open trenching methods along the following separate locations in Newman Townsite:
- Gregory Ave
- Mullgunbah Ave
- Newman Drive
When is this happening?
Work is expected to begin Mid-August 2024 and will be completed by end of October.
Work will be completed seven days a week between 7am and 5pm.
Where is this happening?
1. Gregory Ave
2. Mullgunbah Ave
3. Newman Drive
How will this impact me?
Nearby residents will notice more noise and activity along the pipeline. Construction will involve excavating and compacting.
There will be traffic management in place during construction to direct road users and pedestrians safely around the work. The pipeline will be installed in the verge.
We will liaise with you directly if we need to work in your driveway to minimise inconvenience.
We thank you for your patience and appreciate your cooperation while this necessary work is carried out.
