Pipe Renewals Program - Riverside Drive
Project goal:
Water Corporation is renewing a critical water main within Langley Park, Ozone Reserve and Point Fraser, as a part of our ongoing commitment to future-proof Perth's water supply.
Status:
In design
Delivery Date:
Deferred until further notice
What's happening?
Water Corporation is planning to replace the ageing water pipe within Langley Park, Ozone Reserve and Point Fraser in the City of Perth. This work is essential to prevent future leaks and breaks and improve the security and reliability of water supply to Perth CBD and surrounding suburbs for decades to come.
When?
Works have been deferred until further notice. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this delay and will provide updates once further information is available.
Where?
The pipeline route goes from Langley Park along Terrace Rd, through Ozone Reserve to Point Fraser Reserve. Refer to the map below.
Impacts
Full details on the impact of this work will be confirmed closer to construction commencing.
Construction impacts
Nearby residents, businesses and visitors will notice an increase in noise, dust, vibrations and activity in the area from personnel, machinery and trucks as they transport materials to and from the work site.
As the new pipe will be installed mainly through open excavation, work areas will be secured by fencing for the safety of the public.
Traffic interruptions
Plain St and Riverside Dve will need to be partially closed for short periods of time as we install the new pipe across these sections.
Detours and traffic management will be in place during this time to safely direct road users and pedestrians around the work area.
Langley Park and Ozone Reserve
Sections of Langley Park and Ozone Reserve will be inaccessible as we install the new pipe.
Water Corporation are working closely with the City of Perth to minimise the impact on events in these areas.
Point Fraser
To safely conduct the work at Point Fraser there will be changes to traffic conditions along Riverside Drive westbound lane. Traffic management details will be confirmed closer to the time.
Additionally, a section of the dual-use path along Riverside Drive near to where work is taking place will be temporarily inaccessible. Pedestrian and cyclist management will be in place during this time.
Access to On the Point businesses and car park will be maintained
We will continue to provide details about this upcoming essential upgrade work as it becomes available. Please get in touch if you have any concerns about this work as we are committed to working with you to minimise disruption as much as possible.
