Strategic Water Infrastructure Program
Project goal:
Deliver new water and wastewater infrastructure to support the potential to deliver new homes across Perth.
Status:
Ongoing
Delivery Date:
2023 - 2030
What’s happening?
The state government will invest $55 million in water and wastewater infrastructure to support the potential to deliver more than 15,000 new homes across Perth.
Infrastructure will be installed around key transport nodes, including seven Metronet sites, providing more diverse, affordable housing for Western Australians in areas reserved for new or higher density development.
Special Developer Infrastructure Contributions (SDIC) have been established to ensure the state’s investment in this infrastructure will be either wholly or majority recouped through contributions from those landowners or developers who stand to benefit. More information, including plans of the areas, can be found on the SDIC webpage.
Where is this happening?
Around key transport nodes in Kenwick, Bennett Springs, Yanchep, Maddington, Malaga, Redcliffe, Meltham, Morley and Kelmscott.
