Bay Tree, Bay Laurel, Sweet Bay

A large evergreen tree from the Mediterranean with dense, dark green, glossy foliage. May be grown in a pot for several years and kept regularly pruned. When planted out it can grow to become a very large, spreading tree that can only be accommodated in large gardens and parks. It is the source of bay leaves used in cooking.
