A medium, evergreen, pyramid shaped tree to 13 metres high and 3 metres wide. Dense, grey-green foliage and showy, hibiscus-like, pink flowers in summer. Flowers are followed by large seed pods containing fine irritant hairs. A hardy tree for coastal exposure. Normally does not need pruning. Not recommended for planting near bushland.
