- Family: MORACEAE
- Genus: Ficus
- Species: pumila
A climbing fig which clings directly to the surface. Slow at first but then extremely rapid growth during the warmer months. A cultivar sold as Ficus pumila 'Minima' has small leaves but in time it reverts to the stronger, larger leaf form. Must be pruned regularly to keep in check. As with most other ficus species it has a vigorous root system with rapidly developing shallow roots that may cause damage.
Pronunciation: Fi-kuss
Warning: Not recommended to be planted near bushland.Â
