Scarlet Kunzea, Crimson Kunzea

An evergreen shrub, fast-growing at first, to 3 metres high and wide. May be pruned to shape but with caution, for it flowers only on old wood. Small leaves, closely packed along the stems, and large deep red flower clusters, usually in late winter. Flowering can also occur in autumn and spring. Bird attracting. Flowers best when not given any fertiliser.

Cultivars include 'Cream Haze' (cream flowers), 'Scarlet Sunset', 'Solomon's Pink' (pink flowers) and a variegated leaf form.
